DFA is affiliated with the Southeastern Fisheries Association (SFA).

SFA was organized in 1952 and has grown and thrived since that time as a worthy representative of the seafood industry in the southeast region of the United States.

DFA is proud to be affiliated with SFA for all of the following reasons:

• DFA has an opportunity to share SFA’s resources, which are considerable.
• SFA has scientific and federal lobbying resources that will be made available to DFA at SFA’s discounted rates.
• SFA has the pulse of issues that are important to the industry and DFA will benefit from its knowledge, contacts and experience.
• SFA has training programs that should be of benefit to DFA members.
• SFA has experience litigating issues and resolving differences within segments of the industry that could be of benefit to DFA.
• DFA’s learning curve as a new organization for effective delivery of services beneficial to the industry will be reduced in light of the guidance that we have and will continue to receive from SFA.

On issues of coastal and national significance, we hope that by combining efforts with SFA and other SFA affiliates we will have a stronger and more influential voice in advancing causes of interest and importance to the seafood industry.
